What We Do—How We Do It

At Bolster Biz Dev, how we help is just as important as what we offer.

Our approach is anchored in decades of real-world sales experience—because when sales stops making sense, you don’t need more noise. You need practical perspective. We listen hard, dig deep, and focus fiercely on removing stubborn revenue roadblocks that stand between you and your profits.

You can trust that at the end of the day, we don’t just troubleshoot—we transform.

Where We Began—
What We've Become

Bolster Biz Dev wasn’t birthed from a business plan. It was born at a breaking point.

After more than 20 years of success in high-pressure, high-performance sales roles, Jennifer Simpson walked away—at the peak of her career. Life had changed. Two young kids waited at home while Jennifer managed a schedule that never stopped. There was an undeniable sense that something had to give. So she gave herself permission to pause.

Her “sales sabbatical” was only supposed to last six months, but the future had other plans.

Then came a call from a former colleague—asking for help with their team the way I once helped them. One conversation turned into a contract. One contract turned into a calling. What started as a small consultancy soon became the early foundation for what is now Bolster Biz Dev.

The tools and frameworks created for that first consulting client weren’t just effective—they were transformative. They helped people lead better, sell smarter, and feel more human in the process. And they’ve been evolving ever since.

Jennifer may have borrowed others’ belief in her at the beginning, but now she knows exactly what she’s building:
A company with a mission to bring skill and nobility back to the sales profession—one person at a time.

Back then, we were known as Simpson Sales Solutions—a one-woman shop with a whiteboard, a laptop, and a big belief: that better sales didn’t require louder pitches, it required going back to the basics. In 2025, the brand evolved into Bolster Biz Dev—a name that reflects who we are: a trusted support system for those responsible for revenue.

And we’re just getting started.

Who Built Bolster—What's Her Why

Jennifer Simpson,
Founder & CEO

Beyond building Bolster Biz Dev, Jennifer Simpson is a wife, a mom, and a believer in Jesus who finds joy in family camping, binging Audible books before breakfast, and singing “out-of-state” karaoke whenever possible.

From her Iowa-based backyard to boardrooms across the country, Jennifer’s consulting and training has shaped sales outcomes for Fortune 500 companies like Honeywell and global brands including Ingredion—while also supporting professionals across a wide range of industries, from medical devices to agribusiness, banking, insurance, and marketing to name a few.

Her accolades include being a 10x Circle of Excellence recipient, 4x President’s Club alum, and two-time Salesperson of the Year—with her face on a 48-foot billboard to prove it.

She’s been recognized by peers with the Highest Award for Achievement at Dale Carnegie and was named Volunteer of the Year by her local Chamber of Commerce.

Jennifer also spent years in leadership roles with the American Advertising Federation of Des Moines—earning coveted national honors for both Club of the Year and President of the Year.

But ask her what matters most, and she won’t highlight the high-fives. She’ll talk about the people she’s met along the way. The breakthroughs. The messy middle when sales gets hard—and how having a been-there-done-that mentor can make all the difference.

That’s what drives her.

And that’s what Bolster is here for—every single day.
